Industry leading BIM and information modelling capabilities
We are leading the industry with our whole team approach to BIM, assimilating it into our business processes, and working towards an entirely digitised approach to project delivery using the latest technologies and industry standards to get there.
Our knowledge on the subject is well regarded and has enabled us to author part of ISO 19650 as well as being active contributors of in the form of free industry guidance development via the UKBIMFramework. Together with standards such as ISO 16739 and our BIM and technical services policies, these form the foundation of our BIM strategy, which is updated regularly to keep abreast of advancements in the field.
To support our clients achieve their objectives, we have invested significant resources towards identifying and acquiring the latest and greatest of innovative technologies improving our people`s ability in providing our clients exceptional services, products and value.
All our operational staff, at all levels of seniority, are trained on our latest, award-winning BIM processes and technologies. Tools such Dalux, our model review tool improve the whole project team`s understanding of the design and project challenges by providing the means of collaboratively developing and interrogating solutions.
We have supported several of our client`s, including our own services business to improve their facility management approach by helping them modernise their information requirement and exchange processes for handover.
Our knowledge in this field is unparalleled. We are one of the few contractors in the UK with advanced knowledge in the UK Government’s chosen standard industry exchange schema, COBie, and we are the only contractor to have a BuildingSMART certified COBie professional leading our strategy which we make available to our clients and the British Standard Institute`s BIM committee to help improve knowledge and value for the whole industry.
Improving quality
Delivering excellence is key to our long-term sustainability, so we deliver quality assured, sustainable buildings and infrastructure, using digital technologies and data to drive improved productivity, efficiency and quality. Our Field View platform, which saves time, reduces costs and helps mitigate risks, is an excellent example of this. Field View is a site-based, quality management system that supports projects in real time, feeding information back instantly and allowing us to create greater efficiency and improve communications and transparency around the construction process by focussing on quality of workmanship and demonstratable compliance. The software allows us to complete and store forms such as H&S and permits, capture and assign snags, create task workflows for any field process and provide a complete audit trail, with project reporting and dashboards.
Facilitating better collaboration
Recognition of our knowledge and experience for how projects should plan, collaborate and exchange information through digitally driven processes has led to us being selected as the leading author of some of the most extensive industry guidance including the UKBIMFrameworks Part C, Common Data Environment and Part F, Information delivery guidance. We developed this guidance based on our long standing, tried and tested processes using such tools as VFP is one of the industry leading collaboration solutions. Often misunderstood as just being a file repository, VFP is able to manage the planning, production, exchange and quality assurance process of information through customisable, digital workflows recording every aspect of the decision making process for all project stakeholders.
Health & Safety
We have developed several innovations in the past decade for improving H&S onsite. We have invested in Virtual Reality (VR) techniques, celebrated as Best Use of Technology: Health, Safety & Wellbeing’ award at New Civil Engineer’s Techfest for site induction and rehearsal training at Stanton Cross site in Northamptonshire.
