The University of Edinburgh’s Health and Wellbeing Centre project is a dedicated health and wellbeing hub for students that unifies the whole building and the community.

Situated in the heart of Edinburgh, the fully accessible centre combines a wide range of services and support to students, members of staff and members of the public including: an independent medical practice offering full general practitioner (GP) services, a pharmacy that is open to students, staff and members of the public; confidential Student Counselling Service containing 36 one-to-one consultation rooms and a Student Disability Service space at the heart of the central area.

A logistical approach with support of the University and supply chain was taken to allow smooth progress of works with minimal inconvenience to events being held by the University and the City of Edinburgh, which included the University’s exam timetable, graduation shows and the Edinburgh Festival.

The high-quality finishes delivered by the Morrison Construction team were commended by both the University and students. The project was an example of Morrison Constructions expertise in the Health and Education sector as it later achieved ‘Highly Commended’ in the Health and Education Project of the Year category at the Scottish Design Awards 2022.
