Morrison Construction received a direct award from The Highland Council to deliver the extension and refurbishment of Invergarry Primary School and Nursery, further strengthening our long-standing partnership with the local authority.
This project was notable for its use of 3D Interactive Photography, which provided a comprehensive and accurate dilapidation survey prior to any works commencing which was a useful reference tool throughout the project. The imaging was particularly useful in a relatively remote site such as Invergarry as it allowed multiple stakeholders, to have access toup to date information without having to travel to site.
The work involved a new two classroom extension, carrying out internal improvements and upgrades within the Victorian stone building and removing existing modular classrooms.
Early surveys identified the presence of a bat maternity roost. Supported by our in-house Environmental Manager we prepared an Environmental Habitat & management plan to support licensed bat works. Construction activity was planned around the periods where bats could not be disturbed.
