Morrison Construction has a been a long-term partner to the Glenmorangie Distillery, dating back over 50 years. Our most recent project is a new ‘Innovation Centre’ which extends capacity at the distillery.
The project included a new still house, situated at the heart of the distillery complex, which contains two more of Glenmorangie’s signature copper stills (one wash still, one spirit still). The stills are renowned as the tallest in Scotland, and are housed in a dramatic glass enclosure, showcasing the unique distillery equipment. The new building is affectionately known as the ‘Lighthouse’ due to its height and location adjacent to the Dornoch Firth.
The project utilised reclaimed stone salvaged from former distillery warehouses to provide a new mashing and fermentation facility building, while the stillhouse utilises wooden panelling made from old whisky casks. Two further warehouses plus additional office space were also create as part of the scheme.
