Morrison Construction’s Building Central business has successfully completed phase one of the new Faifley Community Campus in Clydebank West Dunbartonshire.
The innovative, Passivhaus-designed building provides a modern, energy-efficient learning environment for local children and young people, bringing together Edinbarnet Primary School, Auchnacraig and Lennox Early Learning and Childcare Centres, an additional support needs base, and an education resource centre under one roof.
The campus will also serve the wider community, with a new library and multi-purpose community facilities replacing the existing Skypoint Centre. Designed with sustainability and local heritage in mind, the building features high-quality, durable materials inspired by the nearby Cochno Stone, a Bronze Age landmark that symbolises Faifley’s rich history.
Phase one completion sees the new school and learning spaces handed over and ready for pupils, while phase two of the project, which is now underway, will focus on the demolition of existing buildings and the creation of new car parking and external landscaped spaces, including an all-weather sports pitch and Multi Use Games Area (MUGA).
David Ewing, Managing Director of Morrison Construction Building Central, said: “We are proud to have reached this important milestone on the Faifley Community Campus. The completion of the new school building represents a significant investment in the local area and will provide outstanding, sustainable facilities for pupils and the wider community for generations to come. We now look forward to progressing with phase two and completing the transformation of this site.”
