Morrison Construction’s Building Central business has begun work on a new £20m contract to deliver phases two and three of a new Build to Rent (BTR) scheme at Minerva Street in Glasgow, on behalf of Drum Property Group.
The scheme marks Morrison Construction’s first move into the BTR sector, identified by parent group Galliford Try as one of the key areas for expansion under its new Sustainable Growth Strategy.
Phases two and three of the G3 Square development on Minerva Street consist of 81 flats and 31 flats respectively, alongside external landscaping and ancillary facilities, with both phases to be built concurrently over an approximately 18-month long programme.
Eddie Robertson, Managing Director of Morrison Construction Building Central, commented: “Build to Rent has been a growing market within our group, and we are delighted to have been able to win this first major scheme in Scotland in the sector. We look forward to working with Drum to create high-quality accommodation that will create much-needed homes in this type of tenure for local people.”
