Morrison Construction's Building Central business has teamed up with the Glasgow Science Centre to provide free school memberships to selected local schools for the current academic year.

This partnership will give pupils and teachers access to STEM learning resources to support and extend classroom teaching. They will benefit from professional learning opportunities, video content, comprehensive lesson plans, and access to industry experts, while pupils can enjoy engaging activities at the Science Centre itself.

Primary school pupils can take part in interactive Learning Labs on topics such as space discovery, renewable energy, and human biology. Meanwhile High School pupils will be introduced to future careers through Glasgow Science Centre’s STEM Futures programme, which includes Scotland’s only full-motion flight simulators at the Newton Flight Academy.

The schools selected for the programme are located near Morrison Construction Building Central’s projects and offices across the Central Belt and Southern Scotland, helping to strengthen community links and provide meaningful educational support.

Jim Johnstone, Head of Communities and Social Impact for Morrison Construction Building Central, commented: “The Glasgow Science Centre is a fantastic resource for the region and Scotland as a whole, and we are delighted to be partnering with them. Inspiring children into STEM careers is a key part of what we do as a business, and this partnership can only help us create opportunities for future generations.”

Stephen Breslin, Chief Executive Officer for Glasgow Science Centre, added: “I welcome our continued partnership with Morrison Construction and the opportunities this will bring – not just for more children to engage with STEM learning – but for Glasgow Science Centre to work hand-in-hand with industries to equip the next generation with the skills needed to drive forward growth and innovation.

“At Glasgow Science Centre, we believe that no young person should face barriers to careers in STEM. With the demand for skills in science and technology continuing to grow, it has never been more important for government, industry, and educators to work together to bolster STEM attainment in a way that ensures no one is left behind.

“As a charity, none of the vital work we are able to achieve at Glasgow Science Centre would be possible without the funding of our valued partners, like Morrison Construction, who enable us to drive forward change.”
