Morrison Construction’s Building Central business has enjoyed a double award success for its Communities team and the Calderwood Primary project.
Firstly, the Communities and Social Impact team took home the Invest in Renfrewshire prize at the ROCCO Awards for their continued support for the local community in the region. The ROCCO Awards, in their 18th year, celebrate local businesses and organisations who have made a difference to the Renfrewshire area.
The award recognised the team’s commitment to local employability programmes for unemployed people through education and skills training as well as encouraging access to the business’s apprentice and trainee programmes. Earlier in the month, the same team also claimed the Social Value Award at this year’s GO Awards.
Secondly, the Calderwood Primary School, designed by jmarchitects, was a winner at the Glasgow Institute of Architects Design Awards, claiming both the Education category prize and the Supreme Winner of the event for a project of outstanding quality. The school had previously been Highly Commended at the Scottish Design Awards in July.
David Ewing, Managing Director of Morrison Construction Building Central, commented: “Our Communities team continue to deliver great work across the region and I congratulate them for this acknowledgement, which is just reward for their efforts.
“Calderwood Primary is a fantastic educational facility, which has rightly received recognition for its high-quality design. I again congratulate all the team involved in this highly successful project.”
