Morrison Construction Building Central has been shortlisted for two awards at this year’s Education Property Awards, reflecting the Groups’ commitment to creating innovative and sustainable learning environments.
Beatlie School Campus, delivered on behalf of West Lothian Council and its development partner Hub South East, has been shortlisted for the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Project of the Year award.
The newly built, cutting-edge facility caters to children and young people aged three to 18 with complex needs and features a sensory garden, hydrotherapy pool, and NHS Child Development Centre to provide a nurturing and inclusive environment.
This latest recognition adds to Beatlie School’s growing list of accolades. The school has previously been honoured at the Education Estates Awards for Pupil/Student Experience, and claimed two awards at the Learning Places Scotland Awards, including Project of the Year - Inclusive Design and Pupil/Student Experience. It also earned the Small Development of the Year (Public Buildings) award at the Scottish Property Awards.
In addition, East Calder Primary School, also built in partnership with West Lothian and Hub South East, is a finalist for Primary School Project of the Year. The new primary school features a distinctive triangular-shaped building designed to maximise energy efficiency and enhance educational connectivity throughout its modern learning spaces for future students.
David Ewing, Managing Director of Morrison Construction Building Central, commented on the nominations: “We’re delighted to see two of our projects recognised at this year’s Education Property Awards. We’re committed to delivering outstanding, sustainable education facilities that not only meet the needs of today’s learners but also help shape inclusive communities for the future.”
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at the Leeds Marriott Hotel on 20 May.
