Morrison Construction's Building Central team has scooped the Social Value Award at this year’s GO Awards that celebrate Scotland’s leading public procurement achievements across the public, private and third sector organisations.
Morrison competed against eight other finalists to win the category, being recognised for the team’s collaboration in delivering projects and schemes around the Women’s National Facility Project in Stirling, that have continued to benefit the local economy and community in the area.
To date, the project has generated £29.3 million worth of social value that is 55% of social value against the contract value, £28.8 million for the local supply chain, along with providing support and working with companies such as Community Focus Scotland (CFS) and North Lanarkshire Industries (NLI) that led Morrison Construction to win ‘Market Builder’ at the 2021 Social Value Awards.
David Ewing, Managing Director for Morrison Construction Building Central, said: “As part of our Sustainable Growth Strategy, we have continued to deliver lasting change for the communities we work in, while improving Scotland’s built environment. It is a privilege and a pleasure to have our teams and partners recognised for this achievement, and I extend my gratitude and congratulations to each and every one of them.”
