Pupils from Maybury Primary School visited the construction site of their future school to mark a significant milestone in its development.

The primary one students, who will be the first to attend the new Maybury Primary School in Edinburgh, laid the last brick of the school and buried a time capsule, creating a memorable moment for everyone involved.

The new school is being built by Morrison Construction’s Building Central business through the Crown Commercial Services framework on behalf of the City of Edinburgh Council. The project represents a major investment in the future of the community, providing a state-of-the-art learning environment for generations to come.

During the event, the pupils were assisted with laying the final brick and time capsule by the site team, along with staff and teachers from the school. To commemorate the occasion, each pupil received a goody bag, including a special Maybury teddy bear generously donated by subcontractor Main Contracts.

David Ewing, Managing Director for Morrison Construction Building Central, commented: “This was a wonderful milestone for all those involved in the Maybury Primary School project. It’s fantastic to see the enthusiasm of the pupils who will soon call this school their own, and we look forward to handing over a fantastic new facility for them in the near future.”
