The Morrison Construction Building Central team is celebrating following the success of the Cumbernauld Academy and Community Theatre project in the Partnerships Awards.

The £37m scheme won the gold award for Best Education project, ahead of Jedburgh Academy with silver, a Hub South East project which Galliford Try’s Investments business retains an interest in.

The Cumbernauld project, built on behalf of Hub South West and North Lanarkshire Council, consists of a secondary school with capacity for 1250 secondary pupils and a replacement venue for the old Cumbernauld Theatre, including a main theatre auditorium, 80-seat digital media cinema, café, studio theatre and a dance studio.

The recognition of both projects demonstrates the success of the Hub model within Scotland, particularly its excellence in encouraging collaboration and partnership working.

Eddie Robertson, Managing Director of Morrison Construction Building Central, commented: “I congratulate all the team for their fantastic success at the Partnership Awards. This award stands as testament not only to the excellence of our project teams but also the continuing partnership with Hub South West Scotland and North Lanarkshire Council.”
