Assynt Water Treatment Works

Location: Evanton
Morrison Construction has successfully completed the design and construction of a completely new treatment works on the existing site at Assynt in the hills above Evanton, whilst the existing works continued to produce potable water.
The new works will use Loch Glass to supply 20,000 customers throughout Evanton, Dingwall, Strathpeffer and Black Isle area with clear, fresh drinking water treated using modern membrane technology.
The main elements of the project is the new treatment building housing the main processes; membranes, chemical storage, dosing, sludge thickeners and control room, together with clear water storage tanks, pumping station and new contact pipework ranging in diameter from 500mm to 1200mm diameter throughout the site.
The project won bronze at Considerate Constructors 2010 National Site Awards.
