Glen Fillan Viaduct Refurbishment

Location: Fillan
Morrison Construction has completed an improvement programme at Glen Fillan Viaduct on the West Highland Line.
The works included steelwork, bearing and masonry repairs and the strengthening of the steel superstructure to allow heavier loads to be transported. The project also called for the controlled removal of lead paint from the historic structure which spans the River Fillan, a tributary to the River Tay, before a new protective coating was applied.
The works were successfully delivered on time and to budget.
